Economic Section
The Economic Section deals with the full range of bilateral and multilateral economic issues as well as environmental, science and technology questions. It works closely with the office of the Agriculture Attache in Canberra and the Foreign Commercial Service representatives in Sydney and Melbourne to promote U.S. economic goals and facilitate economic ties between the United States and Australia. The agriculture and commercial offices are the first point of contact for assistance with specific commercial questions.
The Economic Section’s primary telephone number is (02) 6214-5974. Correspondence should be faxed to (02) 6214-5825 or emailed to info@usembassy-australia.state.gov with “Attention: Economic Section” in the subject line.
