The American Citizen Services (ACS) section provides information and assistance to U.S. citizens in Australia. American Citizen Services consists of the Passport & Citizenship and Special Consular Services sections. For information on American Citizen Services please make your selection from the options on the menu at the left side of this page.
To be allowed entry into the consular section for routine (non-emergency) services, you must make an appointment online at the Consulate that serves your area. If you can conduct your business by mail or online, please do so. Note: If the particular service you need does not require a personal appearance at the Consulate, you will be instructed to submit your application by mail.
The Consul’s Corner is a newsletter designed to keep the American community in Australia connected with their diplomatic representatives in Australia. The latest edition is now available!
U.S. citizens living or traveling abroad are encouraged to register with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate through the State Department’s travel registration website at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/. Those who register will receive updated information on travel and security. Registration also makes it easier for the Embassy or Consulate to make contact in an emergency.
